Sampdoria are interested in South Korea international Kang-in Lee, whose contract with Valencia is running down.

According to Superdeportes in Spain and Sport Mediaset in Italy, Samp are the latest to approach Valencia for their 20-year-old creative midfielder.

He is only tied to the club until June 2022 and is heading back to Spain after the Tokyo Olympics.

Kang can play as a trequartista, on the right or left wing in a supporting attacking role.

Milan, Napoli and Fiorentina have also been linked in the past, but Sampdoria seem to be the new favourites.

They trust he can raise his game after a disappointing 2020-21 season, in which he scored one goal and provided four assists in 27 competitive appearances for Valencia.

He has never been particularly prolific, with three goals and four assists in 62 games for Valencia at senior level.

Sampdoria have more than one eye on the media impact of signing a South Korean star, hoping to boost television and merchandising sales in Asia.
