Sampdoria have presented their new jersey with Macron, which is made from 13 recycled plastic bottles.

The shirt will be worn for the first time on Sunday December 5 in the Serie A home match against Lazio.

It is called Samp for People and is a special limited edition kit made of Ex-Sirena Light and Ex-Micromesh fabric, 100 per cent coming from recycled plastic.

Only 1,000 of these shirts will be sold, while the jerseys worn by the players will be auctioned off to raise funds for the Apnea Academy, dedicated to cleaning rubbish from the sea.

This isn’t the first jersey in Serie A to be made from recycled plastic, as all Udinese’s kits are already using this fabric in the 2021-22 season.

  1. Awesome jersey as usual Samp! Their top always seem to be bang on.

All the while using recyclable materials to better further the environment in the long term.
