Sampdoria and Lazio have both been allowed to compete in Europe, despite fears they could be excluded.

The Blucerchiati were reportedly at risk of being denied a Europa League place, following their involvement in the Calcioscommesse scandal of 2011.

That would have allowed Inter to qualify for next year’s tournament, with Genoa already having been excluded for failing to name a suitable stadium to play their home matches.

Lazio, meanwhile, were warned by Federbet that they could be excluded from the Champions League if an investigation into a Genoa-Lazio match from the same scandal were to be stepped up.

However, today UEFA has published the official list of teams which will compete in European competition next season, with both sides included.

The Aquile will learn their opponents for the Champions League play-off round on August 7, while Samp will enter the third qualifying round of the Europa League, the draw for which is on July 17.
