Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero revealed Samuel Eto’o will be presented ahead of Sunday’s game with Palermo.
The deal with Everton is all but completed and Ferrero confirmed as much in an interview with Sky Sport Italia.
“I tell all the fans to go for a walk in the morning on Sunday with their girlfriends or boyfriends, their children and families, then everyone to the stadium for a great surprise.”
Ferrero was interviewed along with Edoardo Garrone, the former President of the club.

“I am here because I lost a bet. The last time we met at dinner, he said he was going to sign Eto’o. I said that I didn’t believe him and would buy him lunch if it proved to be true.
“The moment he called me with the confirmation, we came here and had our lunch. In fact, Ferrero paid anyway, because he is so happy at bringing Eto’o to Sampdoria!”
It’s believed the Cameroon legend will undergo a medical today and be in the stands at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris – commonly referred to as Marassi – for the Sunday afternoon game against Palermo.
There does not seem to be a transfer fee involved, but rather performance-related bonuses going to Everton.
It’s even reported there is a bonus tied to the possibility of Sampdoria winning the Scudetto.
