Sampdoria have asked Napoli for striker Fernando Llorente on loan with a contribution to pay for his salary, claim Sky Sport Italia.

According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the initial approach has been made and more details can be discussed when the two teams face off in Serie A on Sunday.

Llorente is 35 years old and joined Napoli as a free agent from Tottenham Hotspur in September 2019.

However, he is yet to play a single minute of football this season, even though Arkadiusz Milik has been frozen out.
