Adem Ljajic could return to Serie A for Sampdoria, it’s reported, after he was frozen out of the Besiktas squad.

The Serbia international turns 30 next month and is under contract with Besiktas until the end of the current campaign.

However, he was cut out by the club hierarchy and ordered to find himself another destination.

It was rumoured in Turkey that Besiktas felt Ljajic was using injuries as an excuse not to train or play for the team, with coach Sergen Yalcin announcing he “must be removed from the squad as soon as possible, as he disrupts the team’s order and discipline.”

According to Sky Sport Italia, the next move could well be for Sampdoria.

Ljajic spent most of his career in Italy, joining Fiorentina from Partizan Belgrade in January 2010.

He has since moved on through Roma, Inter and Torino, going to Turkey for Besiktas in the summer of 2018.

The most famous moment of his Serie A career came at Fiorentina, when he was physically attacked by then-Viola coach Delio Rossi following a substitution.
