Franck Ribery is without a club after his contract at Fiorentina expired and Sampdoria are reportedly ready to offer the French winger a chance to stay in Serie A.
The Blucerchiati are, according to Il Secolo XIX, one of the clubs linked with Ribery as the former Bayern Munich star’s agent Davide Lippi has been searching for a destination in Italy.
Lazio are also mentioned as possible suitors, but Sampdoria are the most likely hypothesis for the 38-year-old.
Fiorentina confirmed his farewell with a message on social media today, and the player’s high salary is the biggest obstacle for Samp.
The report claims Ribery is asking for €4m a season, but to join Massimo Ferrero’s team, he would have to agree to reduce his salary by at least a third.
Sampdoria finished ninth in Serie A 2020-21, but coach Claudio Ranieri has since left the Marassi.
