Sampdoria have announced that all the players who had previously tested positive are now free of COVID-19.

The Serie A club was unusual in that it refused to confirm how many of its players and members of staff had contracted the virus.

Manolo Gabbiadini was the first at Marassi to test positive on March 12, followed by Albin Ekdal, Antonino La Gumina, Morten Thorsby, Jakub Jankto, Fabio Depaoli and Bartosz Bereszynski.

Omar Colley had initially been named as positive, but later revealed a second test had cleared him.

When the numbers started to rise, Sampdoria released a note warning they would no longer name every player or member of staff who was positive, in order to protect their privacy.

A statement released this afternoon confirmed all those at the club who had been positive for coronavirus have been given the all-clear.
