Sampdoria say they are ‘confident in the legitimacy of their work’ after some of Massimo Ferrero’s assets were seized.

The FIGC has opened an investigation into Ferrero after €1.2m supposedly went missing from the transfer that took former Samp midfielder Pedro Obiang to West Ham United in the summer of 2015, while the movie mogul is also being probed for alleged misappropriation out of football.

However, the club wrote on their official website: “Regarding the news published by the Press today, the Sampdoria board specifies that these are the same facts referred to in the Press release dated July 3, 2017 and is confident in the legitimacy of its work, as well as that of the judiciary.”
