Sampdoria won their friendly match today and confirmed Alfred Duncan’s arrival, but Walter Samuel was “not motivated.”

The Blucerchiati crushed Val Di Susa 14-0 in their first pre-season outing at the Bardonecchia training camp.

Stefano Okaka and Francesco Fedato scored hat-tricks, while Eder, Pawel Wszolek and Renan got braces. Nenad Krsticic and Stefano Beltrame were also on target in the 4-3-3 formation.

Director of Sport Carlo Osti was also present and spoke to Sky Sport Italia about some of their transfer targets.

“Gaetano Berardi will go to Leeds. Are we irritated Samuel turned us down? Absolutely not, as I am convinced those who arrive here must be proud to wear the Samp shirt. Anyone who isn’t can stay home so, with all due respect to Samuel, we only want motivated players.

“Duncan is very close to joining us, as over a year and a half at Livorno he showed good things and we believe he can continue his maturation process here.

“He will probably have his medical on Friday.”

Duncan is a midfielder owned by Inter, who spent last season on loan at Livorno, while veteran defender Samuel is a free agent after his contract with the Nerazzurri expired.
