Sampdoria director Daniele Pradè confirms Milan “asked for authorisation to speak” to Ivan Strinic, who will be a free agent in June.

There have been multiple reports that the former Napoli left-back has already agreed terms for a move to the Rossoneri next season.

“I can confirm that Milan asked for authorisation to speak to the player,” Pradè told RMC Sport.

“He is an exemplary professional, he signed a contract for these 10 months and we knew what the conditions were.”

It is perhaps no coincidence that Strinic has been dropped to the bench since these reports emerged.

“We are not precluding anything, he will be a professional with us until June 30. We’ll talk to the player and see what he decides.”

The 30-year-old Croatia international joined Sampdoria from Napoli in August 2017 for €2m.
