Serie B side Sampdoria would consider selling captain Angelo Palombo in January should a big enough offer be tabled.

Italian international Palombo remained with the port club over the summer despite their shock relegation into the second tier.

However, the club captain’s future has been placed into some doubt after he was recently dropped from the starting XI.

“His exclusions of late have probably re-ignited the attention of Fiorentina” data-scaytid=”12″>Fiorentina and Napoli,” Samp sporting director Pasquale Sensibile told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“It would cost us a lot to get rid of Angelo, but we could sit down and discuss a move if an important bid was received.

“During the summer, we instantly ended any talk about a Palombo sale, but a few months have passed now and things change.

“If recent events have forced Angelo to start looking around and opening doors for offers from other clubs then we are ready to make carefully thought out market decisions.”
