Sampdoria have reported Sporting CP to FIFA over an unpaid €4.6m from Bruno Fernandes’ big-money transfer to Manchester United.

Fernandes spent one season at Samp before moving to Sporting in the summer of 2017.

However, Il Secolo XIX claims the Blucerchiati are owed money from his January switch to United.

The Red Devils signed the Portugal midfielder for an initial €46.5m, which could rise to €80m depending on bonuses.

However, Il Secolo XIX claims the Blucerchiati are owed money from his January switch to United.

The Red Devils signed the Portugal midfielder for an initial €46.5m, which could rise to €80m depending on bonuses.

The newspaper writes how Samp are owed €4.6m in three instalments and have yet to receive the first payment.

That would have prompted them to ask FIFA to intervene, although the Lisbon side maintain they do not owe anything, since the 26-year-old signed a new contract in 2018, rendering the previous one obsolete.

Sporting were ordered to pay Sinisa Mihajlovic €3m for unfair dismissal but have so far paid only a part of that.
