“It’s the same thing I did last night, I love Ranieri and I am happy to have had him as the Sampdoria coach. I admire him.

“We’ve had a great relationship, but we had different ideas, I did everything to keep him here, but in life, sometimes, you have to make choices.

“Now, I must think about the future of Sampdoria, we want to build a better team and achieve better results.

“I want to thank everybody for this extraordinary season, especially our fans who we missed. This was my seventh season as the Sampdoria owner, now we go for the eight, hoping to win something in the future.”
