A Sampdoria fan has been identified and banned after mimicking an airplane in the direction of Torino fans last weekend.

The supporter was mocking the Superga air disaster, which killed off the entire Grande Torino side of 1949.

However, in a move that will please many, DIGOS – Italy’s General Investigations and Special Operations Division – has managed to identify the person in question.

He has since been given a two-year ban from attending football matches in Italy, also known as a DASPO.
