There are reports Massimo Ferrero is considering a €120m offer from English fund Aquilor to sell Sampdoria, allowing him to stay in charge for several months.

According to news agency Ansa, the latest proposal is genuinely tempting for President Ferrero and he is giving it some serious thought.

It would be €120m, compared to the reported €90m offered by the American group featuring Alex Knaster, Jamie Dinan and Gianluca Vialli.

Aquilor would also allow Ferrero to remain in charge for several more months, including over the summer transfer window.

It’s rumoured that the money behind Aquilor comes from Arab investors who want to move into Italian football after already dealing with English clubs.
