Sampdoria director Carlo Osti admits “there will always be talk of Antonio Cassano’s return as long as he is playing.”
FantAntonio was sold following a raging row with then-President Riccardo Garrone in October 2010, although the pair made up before the patron died last year.
The club is under new ownership and President Massimo Ferrero hinted he’d like to bring Cassano back to Marassi.
“The truth is that there will always be talk of Cassano’s return to Samp as long as he is playing, because he loves the club colours and left his heart in this city,” added director of sport Osti on Sky Sport Italia.
“We will go forward with our project based on many young players and a few experienced ones.”
