Lazar Samardzic is edging towards accepting the move to Inter after last minute doubts almost caused the deal to collapse, Gianluca Di Marzio details.

The 21-year-old Serbian midfielder underwent his medicals with the Nerazzurri next week, ready to switch from Udinese in a deal worth €15m plus youngster Giovanni Fabbian, but pen wasn’t put to paper and tensions suddenly emerged.

Everything came to a standstill after it emerged that Samardzic’s father and other members of his entourage were pushing for higher wages and commissions than had been agreed. Inter slammed the brakes on the deal, refusing to match these terms.

As detailed by Di Marzio, Inter informed Samardzic that he’d be returning to Udinese but the player decided to stay in Milan, making it clear that he still wanted to complete the transfer.

The 21-year-old now has around 48 to 72 hours to accept the Nerazzurri’s offer and he’s currently edging towards giving the green light.
