Salvini lashed out at Gattuso’s tactics after Milan fell to a last-gasp Lazio equaliser on Sunday, but the Rossoneri fan has now backtracked on his initial criticism.
“Gattuso is the best Coach Milan can have and I spoke as a fan,” the Lega Nord leader [pictured, right] told ANSA.
“Let’s say that maybe with some changes, the game would’ve ended differently. I have immense esteem for Gattuso as a player and Coach.
“When the score was still 1-0 to us, the Lazio Coach made three changes, bringing on three fresh players, and we didn’t, even though they were pressing us for the last 20 minutes.”
