Hasan Salihamidzic explains how Bayern Munich rebuilt after losing Robert Lewandowski and the ‘difficulties’ of facing Inter in the Champions League.

It kicks off at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

Bayern have been transformed following Lewandowski’s transfer to Barcelona, who curiously enough are in the same Champions League group with Inter and Viktoria Plzen.

“It’s not all new, we have a good attack with many different approaches,” Brazzo told Sky Sport Italia.

“We tried to create a team over the last few years with a good maturity, we have many German internationals who have already won the World Cup, a mix with young talents who can grow, so we’ll see what happens.

“Obviously, the coach must always be in agreement with the club on the strategy. We had a good market, now we need to start winning.”

Salihamidzic still speaks fluent Italian and that helped when negotiating directly with his former club Juventus for defender Matthijs de Ligt this summer.

“Italy means a lot to me, as I had four wonderful years with Juventus, even if we didn’t win that much.”

Bayern Munich have drawn their last two Bundesliga matches with 1-1 results, so the pressure is on to deliver at San Siro and in Europe.

“It would be good to start the Champions League on the right foot, but we know how difficult it is to play against Inter, who have a really strong team.”
