Nicola Salerno reveals Watford want Simone Zaza, but “we must find out if Juventus are open to talks”.

The former Cagliari sporting director works as a consultant for the Hornets, overseeing signings from abroad, having previously worked with Leeds United in England.

Zaza joined the Bianconeri from Sassuolo this summer, but has struggled for playing time, with Mario Mandzukic, Alvaro Morata and Paulo Dybala ahead in the pecking order.

“Right now the transfer window is still a long away away,” Salerno told Calciomercato.

“We have drawn up some names for the attack who we’re evaluating. Our idea is to get a striker, and we’re considering carefully with all the technical staff.

“Zaza? Yes, he’s a very good player, that’s certainly not something we have to discover. We must find out if Juventus are open to talks and would consider a sale.”

Zaza has made nine appearances for the Old Lady this season, only three of which were starts, but has scored four goals in all competitions.
