Two sides from the bottom half of the Serie A table face off this weekend and these Salernitana vs. Udinese predictions suggest it will be a close game. The hosts have narrowly escaped relegation, while the visitors have only won once in their last five games.

Salernitana vs. Udinese odds

1 – A draw at full-time – 13/5

2 – Under 2.5 goals scored – 8/13

3 – One team to score – 11/10

4 – Match to end goalless – 11/1

5 – Beto to score anytime – 15/8

Two teams with very little left to play for face off on Saturday in their penultimate Serie A match of the season. Following a fantastic start to the season, Udinese have seen their form level out with a mid-table finish likely.

For Salernitana, they achieved their primary objective by ensuring they stayed clear of the threat of relegation, following a phenomenal run of form under Paolo Sousa. Since taking over as boss in mid-February, the former Juventus and Inter player has overseen a run of just two defeats in 13 games, after inheriting a side that had won just one in ten previously.

The coach’s arrival almost instantly improved the Granata defensively, although the team’s offensive struggles have remained. As a result, the vast majority of Sousa’s results have been draws, and we back Sunday’s clash to end that way.

The visitors this weekend have also provided very limited goal threat this season, scoring in just two of their last five games. Up against a well-marshalled Salernitana side, it would be a surprise to witness a goal-fest at the Stadio Arechi and we back under 2.5 goals scored this weekend.

In fact, a repeat result of the reverse fixture may well be worth a punt given the high odds, with a 0-0 draw a distinct possibility. Should any player be able to break the deadlock, we back the Udinese’s forward Beto. In a side sorely lacking creativity, the striker has managed to break into double digits this season.

Beto’s impact was limited in last week’s defeat to Lazio. But, having been out injured for a month, that match will have served as an opportunity to regain match fitness ahead of easier opposition this weekend.
