Two teams in desperate need of a win face off in these Salernitana vs. Torino predictions as the Stadio Arechi prepares for what should be an entertaining game. With eight games remaining in the Serie A calendar relegation looks unavoidable for the hosts, while the visitors face yet another mid-table finish.

2 – Andrea Belotti to score anytime – 2/1

3 – Over 2.5 goals scored – 17/16

4 – Federico Bonazzoli to score anytime – 7/2

5 – Federico Bonazzoli to score last – 10/1

Salernitana welcome Torino to the Stadio Arechi on Saturday for the battle of the Granata. Both teams are without a win in their last eight Serie A fixtures and will have earmarked this weekend as an opportunity to secure a rare three points.

The hosts have the unwelcome honour of boasting both the least productive attack and the worst defensive record in the league, despite signing almost 40 new players since their promotion last summer. The Granata escaped expulsion from Serie A in January thanks to a rapid ownership change, however Davide Nicola’s side look set for relegation after securing just 16 points from their first 28 games.

In the opposing dugout Ivan Juric has been widely applauded for his work with the Granata as Torino have vastly improved on last season’s disastrous showing. Even so, Il Toro have reason to be disappointed with their lack of consistency, losing to the likes of Cagliari and Genoa straight after securing draws against Juventus and Inter respectively.

Despite their inconsistencies, the visitors are strong favourites to win on Saturday, having hammered Salernitana 4-0 when they met in the reverse fixture this season for Torino’s joint-highest win of the campaign.

Having dropped off in form since his goalscoring return from injury, club captain Andrea Belotti will surely be eying up Nicola’s defence, which has conceded 65 goals already this season at an average of 2.3 per game. The forward looks set to leave Torino at the end of the season and will be hoping to add to his goal tally in order to do so on a high.

With Belotti soon gone, Bremer is already staking his claim as Torino’s new hero, with the centre-back emerging as one of the best defenders in the league this season. La Granata’s back line currently boasts the fifth-best defensive record in Serie A and they will be confident of keeping a clean sheet against a Salernitana side that is averaging 0.8 goals scored per game.

The hosts’ one hope comes in the form of Federico Bonazzoli, with the forward scoring four goals in his last five games. The young Italian’s purple patch has seen him become Salernitana’s top scorer with seven goals in just 14 starts – Bonazzoli’s duel with Bremer will certainly be one to watch.

Salernitana team news

Diego Perotti is struggling with a calf injury and is unlikely to be risked, with Simone Verdi most likely to step in against his parent club. Davide Nicola may also look to hand a first start in four games to Franck Ribery, with Lys Mousset missing out through injury. Mamadou Coulibaly has been struggling with a minor injury and may join Matteo Ruggeri, Stefan Strandberg and Frederic Veseli on the sidelines.

Torino team news

Key midfielder Tommaso Pobega misses out through suspension, joining fellow midfielders Dennis Praet, Mohamed Fares and Josip Brekalo on the sidelines.
