The Old Lady got back to winning ways in the week but these Salernitana vs. Juventus predictions suggest that it will be a close game at the Stadio Arechi on Tuesday.

Salernitana vs. Juventus odds

1 – Juventus to win – 4/7

2 – Over 2.5 goals scored – 10/11

3 – Both teams to score – 19/20

4 – Federico Chiesa to score at any time – 21/10

5 – Juventus to win 2-1 – 15/2

A Coppa Italia victory over Lazio on Thursday will have been warmly welcomed by all Juventus fans after three winless Serie A games and a 15-point deduction for financial reasons. The Old Lady will begin this game down in 13th place, just above their hosts.

Champions League qualification now seems out of the question – and Massimiliano Allegri has even suggested that Juve could be in for a relegation battle – so three points from this one seem vital. But it could be a close game at the Stadio Arechi.

The good news for Juventus is that Federico Chiesa has returned and played alongside Dušan Vlahović for the first time in that win over Lazio. He was the best player in the team before his injury and Juve will be keen for him to regain that form quickly. He could be the one that scores a decisive goal on Tuesday.

Salernitana will hope that they have turned a corner after beating Lecce away from home last weekend. A woeful run of results that ended with the sacking – and eventual re-hiring – of Davide Nicola had seen them plummet down the table.

Confidence will be high for the Granata though and they are sure to give Juventus a tough game here. But conceding goals has been a problem all season and they hold the worst record in the league. The 8-2 thrashing by Atalanta didn’t help in that regard, but this is a side that is always in danger of allowing opponents too many chances.

With a fit Federico Chiesa playing again, Salernitana will need to limit those chances as much as possible. But there should be opportunities up the other end – and it would not be a surprise if the home team find the net too.

Salernitana team news

Davide Nicola could go with the same starting XI that overcame Lecce last weekend, meaning that new signing William Troost-Eking retains his place in the back four. Salernitana still has a lengthy injury list to deal with, so the team just about picks itself at the moment.

Juventus team news

Massimiliano Allegri will now have some of his star players back and could put them straight back into the starting line-up after coming through the Coppa Italia tie on Thursday. Dušan Vlahović and Federico Chiesa could team up again up front, while Juan Cuadrado should start on the right. Manuel Locatelli could also replace Leandro Paredes after impressing against Lazio.
