Salernitana directors were present at Napoli’s game with Crystal Palace and spotted deep in conversation with Salvatore Sirigu ahead of a possible transfer.
They were in Turkey on a winter training camp during the Serie A break for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Napoli won the friendly test 3-2, but after the match, Salernitana director Morgan De Sanctis was spotted in the stands talking to Sirigu.
Signed as a free agent from Genoa over the summer, the veteran goalkeeper is yet to make a single appearance in the Napoli jersey.
Salernitana are looking for a new shot-stopper, as Luigi Sepe sustained an injury and it is not yet clear how long he will be out for.
Sirigu could therefore be either loaned out or sold for a minimal fee.
He will turn 36 in January and is certainly well-travelled, but spent most of his career at Paris Saint-Germain from 2011 to 2016, then had experiences at Sevilla, Osasuna, Torino and Genoa.
