Pippo Inzaghi has picked up his first win in charge of Salernitana with a 4-0 victory over Andrea Pirlo’s Sampdoria in the Coppa Italia Round of 32, setting up a meeting with Juventus in the next round.

Comfortable and convincing on the night, Salernitana led by two at half-time thanks to strikes from Chukwubuikem Ikwuemesi and Loum Tchaouna. The latter added a third on 67 minutes, before Jovane Cabral added his side’s fourth from the bench with four minutes of regular time left on the clock.

Pirlo, meanwhile, is under continued scrutiny as Samp boss, with his team currently in 18th in the Serie B standings.

The silver lining for Sampdoria on Tuesday was the return of striker Andrea Conti, who has been out injured for over a year.

Salernitana, meanwhile, progress to the Round of 16, where they are due to face Juventus in a fixture currently scheduled for January 10, although official dates and times are yet to be confirmed.
