Salernitana have secured their deal with Crotone for Nigeria international striker Nwankwo Simy at €6m plus a sell-on clause.

As expected, the newly-promoted Serie A club had the advantage over other options, as after many years with Crotone, Simy did not want to leave Italy to go abroad.

Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia maintain the deal was done for €6m including performance-related bonuses.

There will also be a 10 per cent cut of any future transfer fee going to Crotone.

Simy made a big impact last season with 20 goals scored in 38 Serie A games, but that was still not enough to prevent the Squali suffering relegation.

The 29-year-old centre-forward has four senior caps for Nigeria.
