Salernitana President Danilo Iervolino admits Edinson Cavani’s transfer ‘may only be a dream’ and opens up about new sporting director Morgan De Sanctis.
The former goalkeeper has been appointed as the new director at the Stadio Arechi, where he will replace Walter Sabatini.
“He has great passion and he loves our project. We want a young and quality team,” Iervolino told Radio Punto Nuovo.
“We know that a tough season is waiting for us. We have faith and there is enthusiasm.”
The Granata dream of signing ex-Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, but Iervolino admits that the Uruguay international’s transfer may not materialise.
“Perhaps, it will remain just a dream, but surely he is a great player. We’ll begin our transfer activity next week. We’ll discuss it with the director and his staff, trying to find the right profiles and invest in them. We are optimists. Hopefully, we can make a good job.”
