Salernitana goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has dislocated his shoulder while playing for Mexico and it is not clear how long it will take to recover.

The shot-stopper sustained the injury during the match against Honduras.

A statement from the Mexico squad confirms that X-Rays showed a dislocation to the right shoulder.

The recovery time is ‘variable’ and he has been returned to his Serie A club, ruled out of the second leg with Honduras.

The veteran goalkeeper is the captain of the Mexico national team and turned 38 years old in July.

His appearance against Honduras was the 148th cap of an extraordinary international career.

Memo Ochoa joined Salernitana as a free agent in January and so far this season has made 11 Serie A appearances.

If he is ruled out, then Benoit Costil is next in like for the Salernitana gloves under new coach Pippo Inzaghi, who replaced sacked Paulo Sousa.
