Salernitana have announced they are evaluating the offers received to buy out the club, but have until December 31 to sell or risk being excluded from the Serie A season.

The club is still technically owned by Lazio President Claudio Lotito, but the rules bar one person from running two clubs in the same division.

Lotito knew when they gained promotion from Serie B in June that he would need to sell before the season began.

When that didn’t happen, he put the club into a blind trust, who were given the job of finding someone prepared to buy Salernitana.

The deadline was pushed back several times, because suitable offers were not received, and the clock is ticking down.

Salernitana’s blind trust released a statement today confirming “the Trustees are evaluating the offers that have been received. As per the previous statement, the Trustees have until December 15, 2021 to make those determinations.”

The club must find a new owner by December 31, or risk being excluded from the Serie A season.
