Salernitana are in chaos, as after the failed takeover, now coach Andrea Sottil is set to resign just 10 days after taking the job.

The club was relegated by finishing last in Serie A this season and is preparing to start again in Serie B.

It was all on track for a revitalisation of the side, including new coach Sottil and a takeover from Brera Holding.

However, the entire house of cards is rapidly collapsing and fans are furious.

Salernitana chaos

Patron Danilo Iervolino failed to agree terms with Brera Holding and the transfer was abandoned, which means the budget that Sottil had been promised is radically reduced.

The coach did not accept that and is set to announce his resignation tomorrow, just 10 days after taking the role.

At least there is some good news, because new director of sport Gianluca Petrachi has agreed to remain in his position, at least for the moment.

The 55-year-old former Roma and Torino director only arrived at the club on June 14.
