New Salernitana owner Danilo Iervolino confirms Walter Sabatini has been appointed as the new sporting director of the Granata.
Iervolino took over the club from Claudio Lotito on December 31 and held his first press conference today.
He confirmed that Walter Sabatini would be in charge of the transfers starting from the current transfer window.
“He is a great director who has been working for several top clubs,” said Iervolino.
“I was almost ashamed to talk to a person of this calibre. His commitment and his desire to win have conquered me.
“Our new director is highly motivated, he will also hold a press to discuss the transfers conference soon.
“Nobody wants to be relegated, I don’t want to waste money, but I want to invest. I want to have a solid proj. We’ll’ll do what’s necessary.”
