Felix Afena-Gyan emerged onto the scene last season under Jose Mourinho at Roma and now both Salernitana and Sassuolo are interested in picking him up on loan.

The 19-year-old Ghanian forward was signed by the Giallorossi’s youth system in January 2021 and he was promoted to the first team last season by Mourinho, who handed the teenager his debut in a Serie A clash against Cagliari. Less than a month later, Afena-Gyan scored two decisive goals in 15 minutes against Genoa, securing all three points for his side.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Roma are willing to send Afena-Gyan away on loan this summer to allow him to continue his development, moving to a club where he’ll receive more first team minutes. Sassuolo are interested but Salernitana in particular want to make a move.

The Campania side’s sporting director Morgan De Sanctis brought the Ghanian teenager to Rome for €200,000 and now he’s keen to continue working with the talent in Salerno.
