Milan announced today that coach Stefano Pioli has signed a new two-year deal, tying him to the club until 2025.

The Italian coach took over from the dismissed Marco Giampaolo in October 2019 and has restored the Rossoneri to glory over the last three years, guiding them to their first Scudetto in a decade and making them regulars in the Champions League again. Milan are now working to reach the knock-out stages of the competition as well as defend their league title.

As detailed by Gianluca Di Marzio, Pioli’s new contract has seen his salary rise by €500,000, increasing it to €4.1m net per season. His previous deal included a Scudetto bonus, which was activated last season, and this has been included again.

Another interesting inclusion is a reward for winning the Champions League, a sign of the club’s dreams and ambitions in the coming years.

Pioli has overseen 153 matches at Milan since his arrival in 2019, averaging 1.97 points per match in that time.

  1. ‘ Another interesting inclusion is a reward for winning the Champions League’

That’s not going to be paid out for sure. Milan are a long way from winning the CL.

  2. Great news. Maybe one day the Milan directors will realise that they need to renew their best players’ contracts as well rather than letting them leave on free transfers.
