Milan could have Alexis Saelemaekers back in time for the match against Cagliari on Monday.

Tuttosport reports the Rossoneri are counting on the Belgian winger, who has been out with a muscle injury since the 3-2 win over Lazio at San Siro on December 23.

The 21-year-old seems set for a return to action against the Rossoblu and build on his 13 Serie A appearances so far in 2020-21.

Saelemaekers has contributed two goals and one assist in the League, whilst he played three preliminary games in the Europa League and once in the group stage, scoring once and assisting twice.

But the match comes too soon for Ismael Bennacer and Matteo Gabbia, as Milan continue to cope without Rade Krunic and Ante Rebic, who are out with coronavirus and have yet to test negative.
