Alexis Saelemaekers reflected on the draw with Salernitana and highlighted Milan’s ambitions following their recent growth.

The Rossoneri currently sit top of the Serie A table after 26 games, two points ahead of second place Inter, who have a game in hand. They failed to take advantage of the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 loss to Sassuolo on the weekend as they dropped points to a bottom place Salernitana.

Speaking to Sport Mediaset, Saelemaekers first reacted to the draw with Salernitana on the weekend.

“We were too frantic, it can be a lesson for our next games so we don’t repeat the same mistakes.”

The 22-year-old Belgian winger then gave his thoughts on the title race this season and if Milan believe in their chances.

“We’ve done a lot of work to get where we are, now we want to show with some trophies that we’re a great team. But now we just have to think about winning one match after another, we have to stay focused on the games.”

Saelemaekers, who is contracted to the Rossoneri until 2026, has made 34 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1960 minutes. In that time, he’s scored two goals and provided three assists, being one of the more exciting players in Stefano Pioli’s talented squad.
