Juventus have identified Alex Saelemaekers as a plan B to bolster their frontline following his return to Milan, reports suggest.

The 24-year-old Belgian winger spent the 2023-24 season on loan with Bologna, where he showed a number of positives under Thiago Motta, scoring four goals and providing three assists across 30 league matches, improving his stocks after a tough spell with the Rossoneri.

Bologna decided not to purchase Saelemaekers following Thiago Motta’s exit, with new coach Vincenzo Italiano unconvinced about his suitability to the new system and his €10m price tag. He has returned to Milan, who are expected to ship him out again this summer.

Page 10 of today’s Tuttosport details how Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli has identified Saelemaekers as a plan B for the club this summer, with Thiago Motta happy to be reunited with the Belgian winger.

The 24-year-old would be a cheaper option than other wingers followed by the Old Lady, including Mason Greenwood and Edon Zhegrova, earning only around €2m gross per season.
