Vivek Yeshwant Ranadivé, the owner of NBA team Sacramento Kings, is reportedly keen to get involved with RedBird’s takeover of Milan.

RedBird head Gerry Cardinale has been busy in the US in recent weeks looking for investors to join his €1.2 billion takeover of the Rossoneri, a deal that’s expected to be completed in September.

As reported by SportMediaset, Ranadivé is now in talks with Cardinale and he’s keen to invest in the takeover. Both parties want to find an agreement quickly and he could soon play a major role.

Ranadivé bought the Sacramento Kings in 2013 for $534 million and has helped it’s valuation rise to a current $2.06 billion. Things have been a little more disappointing on the sporting side of things, however. His soon Aneel could also be involved in the project.

The Sacramento Kings previously expressed his interest in taking over Chelsea before Todd Boehly secured a deal with the Premier League side.
