Arrigo Sacchi admits he would ‘celebrate’ Atalanta winning the Serie A title and feels La Dea has ‘all it takes’ to win the Scudetto in 2024-25.

Atalanta won the Europa League last season and finished in the top four in Serie A, so many expect to see the next step from Gian Piero Gasperini’s boys, who may fight for the Scudetto in 2024-25.

“You’d need a fortune teller, and I am certainly not as such, but I’d be glad if Atalanta win the Scudetto because they are a true revelation in football,” Sacchi, an ex-Milan and Italy coach, told Gazzetta.

“You don’t win by throwing money from the window. You triumph with ideas and hard work and Atalanta have many ideas. This is why I would celebrate their Scudetto.”

La Dea won the Europa League last season and although they are not among the favourites for the Serie A title, vera john registration offers interesting odds about La Dea and the next Scudetto winner.

“I think so because impossible is nothing. Gigi Riva’s Cagliari and Bagnoli’s Verona made it in the past. Why shouldn’t Atalanta make it?” continued Sacchi.

So, what would Atalanta need next season?

“Strong motivation, team spirit and desire to dominate proceedings. If they have these three qualities, then they can build something,” argued Sacchi.

“They already have a master like Gasperini on the bench and the whole environment is strictly connected to the team. The club directors are highly competent.”

La Dea have signed Nicolò Zaniolo and will start the new season away at Lecce.

“I’ve always said that a coach needs reliable players, and I hope Zaniolo is as such,” said Sacchi.

“He has technical qualities, but a footballer also needs the proper mentality. He can mature at Atalanta. Gasperini had proved with Scamacca and De Ketelaere that he’s able to relaunch players. Zaniolo will benefit from Bergamo’s air.

“I see an aggressive team that plays good football. They have clear ideas and work hard. They have all it takes to go far away. Gasperini has done a great job.”

However, Sacchi warned that the Champions League may affect La Dea.

“There are games that last ten or 15 days because you start thinking about them the week before. Atalanta will need a deep squad,” he said.

“Atalanta haven’t always been consistent, so Gasperini will have to insist on this. However, we can’t demand too much from this team, which has already achieved extraordinary things. Atalanta must be a role model for any other club.”
