Legendary Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi believes the Rossoneri’s unity will be much more important than any possible signing, including Divock Origi, to retain the title next season.

The Liverpool striker is ready to undergo his medical with the Serie A giants and is expected to land in Italy next week. According to the latest report of Sky Sport Italia, the 27-year-old will undergo his medical examinations with the Diavoli this coming Tuesday.

Sacchi commented on Milan’s transfer activity in his latest interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport but said the Serie A champions must focus on their tactics and commitment rather than new signings.

“Milan have proved that the collective is always superior to single players,” he said.

“The best signing Milan can make is having the same motivation and team spirit that helped them win the Scudetto.

“They must overcome the precarity of success and have new targets. Playing style and collective are the ingredients to improve. That’s what Milan must do, regardless of new signings, Origi or anyone else.”

Milan won their first Serie A title in 11 years last season and will be looking to retain the title in 2022-23, getting better results in Europe as they faced elimination from the Champions League group stage last season, finishing at the bottom of their group with Porto, Atletico and Liverpool.
