Legendary coach Arrigo Sacchi casts his eye over the 2022-23 Scudetto race, identifying what Milan, Inter, Juventus and Roma must improve to take the title.

The Rossoneri upset the odds last season by winning the Serie A title, despite trailing to Napoli and Inter for much of the campaign.

It was their first Scudetto in over a decade and achieved on a limited budget compared to their rivals.

“Milan play a European style of football,” Sacchi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“If Stefano Pioli’s lads do not lose their humility, then they will challenge to the end for the title again this season.

“Inter will too, but the Nerazzurri have to learn to play as a team with all 11 players together, otherwise they can’t be efficient in the pressing or possession phases. Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez need to help out defensively.”

Juventus have reinforced with the arrival of Paul Pogba, Angel Di Maria and Gleison Bremer, while they are in talks for Leandro Paredes and Filip Kostic too.

“The Bianconeri lost a little motivation last season, but I think they will go back to making their mark,” continued Sacchi.

“Watch out for Roma, because Jose Mourinho is a very experienced coach who knows how to motivate his group. The danger for Roma, as always, is excessive euphoria.”

  1. I think Milan won last season as they were simply more consistent, but the big plus point was they were still winning even when they missed tomori for a month, ibra for much of the 2nd half of the season. They learned that the team is more important than one player. Also Leao had a blinder last year, and still looks like he can improve even more! I hope he sticks around for many years, perhaps leaving in his late twenties for a big money move to Madrid would suit him and Milan too.

  2. Inter need to replace Sanchez and perisic .
Anyway the world cup will throw a few surprises .
