“Players like Messi surprise you and yet they don’t,” smiled the Coach to FIFA after a 3-2 victory over Nigeria.
“He always comes up with something new. He’s so great that one thinks they can do what we can’t expect.”
The Albiceleste side lost Sergio Aguero to a thigh injury that puts him at risk for the Round of 16, but ex-Napoli striker Pocho Lavezzi impressed as a substitute.
“We have forwards who can be brought in. Pocho came in today, was very active and did a great job. We had 30 minutes to go and we changed the system.”
