Sporting director Walter Sabatini says Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Barcelona represents ‘a great opportunity for Roma.’

The Giallorossi held the Catalan giants to a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico earlier this season and travel to Camp Nou tomorrow for their return clash in Group E.

The capital club are currently second, but Bayer Leverkusen and BATE Borisov are only one and two points behind them respectively.

Sabatini believes that his side have an opportunity in Spain despite their opponents’ superb recent form.

“They are very strong, but we’re also good,” he told Mediaset.

“It’s a great opportunity for Roma, matches like this must be played with the right spirit.

“They are the best and are in form, also seen in the result of El Clasico, but we aren’t sacrificed victims. We stand a chance.”
