Roma director Walter Sabatini insists Rudi Garcia will remain as Coach, while decrying an attack on Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.
Speculation has been rife in recent days of a rift between the French tactician and the club’s board, after the former Lille boss said his side couldn’t compete with Juventus.
“I’ve already addressed this yesterday,” Sabatini told assembled media at an event at Musei Capitolini.
“There seem to be some who wish to demean what we did which was really important, especially for those who don’t speak to the microphones and work very hard behind the scenes.
“I know that this speculation is exciting, but we’ll be in a room together in a few days when we meet in London. Rudi has always attended these scheduled meetings.”
There were reports earlier today that Giallorosso defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa was accosted by Lazio fans in the city centre following his derby winner.
The defender reported no injuries, and the assailants had fled by the time the police arrived.
“What’s really saddening is that we’re talking about a lad who is really smart and polite.
“The lad has taken it in the good spirit which distinguishes him, he’s calm and he didn’t want to dramatise what happened, as that’s not in his nature.
“He told us he wasn’t too scared.”
