Inter’s technical advisor Walter Sabatini is believed to have flown out to China early, for a meeting with owners Suning Group.

The Nerazzurri haven’t won in seven games in all competitions, and they’re now nine points behind league leaders Napoli, eight behind Juventus.

That probably spells the end of their Scudetto challenge, but the more concerning this is that they’re just three points ahead of fifth-place Roma, who have a game in hand.

Qualification for the Champions League is the bare minimum aim for the Beneamata this season, and Gazzetta dello Sport states that Sabatini has moved his trip to China forward.

The reason for that, the newspaper reports, is to convince Suning that they must invest in the squad immediately to ensure Champions League qualification.

Sabatini believes both Lazio and Roma have deeper squads, and while Coach Luciano Spalletti does believe in his players, there is a need for more cover.

Gazzetta believes Sabatini will try to convince Suning to allow Ramires to leave Jiangsu Suning on loan for six months, a deal which would cost nothing.

Inter are also keen to get an attacking midfielder, with Paris Saint-Germain’s Javier Pastore the ideal man.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan is another serious possibility, though he couldn’t arrive if Ramires does, and Gerard Deulofeu is another target.

The Nerazzurri also need a centre-back, with Atalanta’s Alessandro Bastoni the most logical option as he’s on loan from the Beneamata.

However, Spalletti wants a more experienced player.

Finally, they need a striker to cover Mauro Icardi.
