Suning and Inter consultant Walter Sabatini admits he is “discussing the situation” and “would’ve liked to construct a consistent scenario.”

There were strong reports today that Sabatini was ready to resign his role as co-ordinator for Suning’s two football clubs, Inter and Jiangsu Suning, as he was unhappy with the transfer strategy.

“I am discussing the situation with Suning, but it’s a very calm conversation and I’d prefer not to talk about it, as I am waiting to see how events develop,” Sabatini told FCInter1908.it as he emerged from negotiations.

“I expect Inter to be Inter, to play well and win the games that need to be won. If that were to happen, it would be a consolation for an experience that has not been great.

“We are discussing it in an environment of complete mutual understanding. It would’ve been nice to create something a little more consistent, but never mind.

“You do your jobs, I can’t be a charlatan and come here lying to you. Luciano Spalletti is the Coach of Inter and I hope he’ll not only stay next season, but begin a five-year tenure that this club deserves.”

This comes just hours after Fabio Capello terminated his contract by mutual consent as Coach of Jiangsu Suning.

“Quite simply, there was a difference in views, so Capello asked for and was granted the mutual termination of the contract, but it was a very calm situation. Suning appreciated the work Fabio had done last season, as with his experience and expertise managed to get the team out of a difficult situation. There were no complaints.”
