Russia’s Capello calls up Panucci

Christian Panucci will reportedly again team up with Fabio Capello after being handed a role by the new Russia boss.

The ex-defender played for the tactician during spells at Milan, Real Madrid and Roma. It is now being claimed that the 39-year-old will act as a scout for Capello by taking in games of Russia’s World Cup 2014 qualifying opponents.

Panucci quit the game in August 2009 and subsequently worked as a TV pundit before a disastrous one-month spell as a director at Palermo earlier this year.

Capello, who is set to sign a two-year deal with the Russian FA this week, will also be assisted by director Oreste Cinquini, assistant Italo Galbiati, fitness Coach Massimo Neri and ‘keeper specialist Franco Tancredi.

Russian Coaches Andrey Talalaev and Nikolay Pisarev will also work alongside Capello’s five-man Italian team.
