Gianluigi Buffon may leave Serie B side Parma in the summer after only a year in order to have one final experience abroad.
The 43-year-old Italian shot stopper, who will turn 44 in five days, re-joined Parma with a smile last summer, making a grand return to his first professional club. Things have not gone as planned, however, and the Emilian side sit 13th in the Serie B table, closer to the relegation zone than the top spots.
As reported by SerieBNews, Parma’s poor results could see Buffon leave the Serie B club at the end of the season, despite the fact that his contract expires with the club in 2023.
The veteran goalkeeper is interested in having one final experience with a club abroad before hanging up his gloves, possibly taking Lorenzo Insigne’s decision after the Napoli winger decided to join Toronto FC on a free transfer.
Updates are expected over the coming weeks, but it’s likely that Buffon will wave goodbye to Italian football later this year.

Good Lord, just retire already.
Come to Canada! Join Insigne at TFC….one last run
Why? Solo Inter? Superman is in his 40is still one of the best in the game.
@solo inter: shut up.
Go and be a circus clown like Insigne in the MLS. Get all the money for being a performer instead of an athlete.
At this rate Toronto FC is gonna be Serie-A All Stars lol.
@superman … no he isn’t.
Buffon 😍 legende !!! We love you from Norway !
