Karl-Heinz Rummenigge believes “Inter can win the Scudetto” and hopes Bayern Munich play the Champions League Final at San Siro.
The German legend is currently on the Bayern board of directors, but in the 1980s was a hero for Nerazzurri fans.
“I hope Inter do well this season, because in recent years the results have not been remotely positive,” commented Rummenigge on inter.it.
“Roberto Mancini deserves a lot of respect, did great work with the team and I think Inter can win the Scudetto.

“We faced them during the tour of China and I realised this is a competitive side. The most important thing this year is that the squad is full of players capable of making a difference in every single match and that’s a big plus for the team.”
Inter are not in the Champions League this term, but the Final will be played in Milan.
“Let’s just say it would be nice to play the Final at San Siro,” smiled the Bayern Munich chief.
Rummenigge was also interviewed because he scored a brace in Inter’s 4-0 victory over Juventus in 1984, so they hope it’ll bode well for this Sunday’s Derby d’Italia.
“Juventus have always been a big rival. That game was important, as they were my first goals for the Nerazzurri. Michel Platini was playing for the other side, so there was plenty of motivation.
“It was a great match and there was an amazing atmosphere inside San Siro. We got off to a good start and put in an exceptional performance.
"I’ve always had a lovely rapport with the Inter fans. It’s a shame I couldn’t win an important title when I was a Nerazzurri player, because the fans deserved that. They were very good with me. When I visit Milan, I still feel their affection.
“In September, I celebrated my birthday in Crotone and even there I was greeted by many Inter fans. I’ll never forget them – we have a fantastic relationship.”
