New Juventus defender Daniele Rugani says he’s been passionate about the club ‘from a young age’ at his unveiling.

The former Empoli centre-back was presented to the media as a Bianconeri for the first time today and spoke of his excitement at joining and willingness to learn from his experienced teammates.

"My Juve passion came from a young age. My dad is a fan and it's a dream come true for me to be here,” he said at the Press conference.

"Thanks to the club for the trust and belief they've shown in me. It's down to me to repay them for this opportunity.

"I'm happy to be here and play for my place. I'm ready to show what I've got.

"I'll pick things up from everyone. I've got the opportunity to learn a great deal by watching those who play in my role.

“I'll be able to learn plenty from Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli.

"No bookings last season? I'm not a particularly impulsive or aggressive individual, my game is more measured.

"Away from the action I'm a laid back person but I know how to be tough on the pitch when it's called for.

“The club's decision to place its trust in many youngsters this year is one we need to repay.

"[Maurizio] Sarri played a key part in my development, equipping me with important tactical advice upon which I can build.

"I hope to earn my spot in the Italy squad through hard work. I can't allow myself to think I've already made it, I need to keep pushing on.

"Playing in the Champions League is a boyhood dream. I'm motivated and fired up. The striker who gave me my toughest test yet was Carlos Tevez."
